BASSDASH’s 3600 backpack page distinguishes a bag-only configuration from one supplied with three trays. It describes a movable internal divider separating personal equipment from the lower tray area. The manufacturer also lists a separate 3670 backpack, so similar photographs should not substitute for checking the exact product name and option.

The bag-only version makes sense when compatible boxes already form your fishing system. The supplied-tray version can simplify a first setup, provided the compartments suit your lures. Compare the lower bay with your actual box stack. Latches, handles and unusually deep trays can consume clearance that a nominal 3600 label does not communicate.

Give external storage a controlled role

The 3600 page lists rod pockets, hook-and-loop retaining straps, daisy chains, a plier pocket and webbing on the shoulder straps. These features create places for equipment, but an attachment point alone does not specify a permitted load. Reserve small points for small accessories and use the intended rod-retention components for rods or tubes.

Adding a large pouch can obstruct an adjacent zipper or change how the backpack balances. Build the outside in stages: fit the water bottle, add the rod, then test access to pliers. Only add another pouch if it solves a problem that remains. A clean exterior is often easier to carry through reeds or brush.

Distinguish rain protection from immersion protection

The manufacturer describes a built-in rain cover stored in a rear zippered pocket. That is useful information for planning wet-weather access: know where the cover sits and whether you can reach it without unloading the bag. Practice fitting it with rods and other attachments in their intended positions.

A rain cover does not turn ordinary compartment zippers into submersible closures. If keeping a phone or electronic key dry matters, use a separate pouch appropriate to that exposure. Put wet lures in a designated container rather than returning them directly to a dry tray stack, and remove the cover for drying after the trip.

Assess the harness with a fishing load

The listed chest and waist straps should be assessed by their effect on fit, not simply checked off as premium features. Does the chest strap keep shoulder straps positioned without restricting arm movement? Does the waist strap control swinging, and does any padding actually rest where you need support?

Load the pack with the water, tackle and clothing you normally carry. Then walk, bend and reach as you would when landing a fish. If the lower tray bay presses awkwardly into your back or the rod catches your arm, adjust the load before buying more accessories. The best configuration is the one that stays manageable throughout the outing.

Choose the bundle you will keep using

Compare the BASSDASH bag-only and supplied-tray options using the boxes you will actually keep. Then account for the rod, pliers and water bottle outside, with room for food and clothing inside. Leave unused compartments empty on the first outing; add an accessory after identifying something you could not store or retrieve conveniently.
