How the straps change the experience

BlowBak uses one main shoulder strap and can be positioned for access. KarryAll uses two backpack straps. Some anglers prefer the convenience of rotating a light sling; others prefer two-strap support as the load grows.

We have not measured comfort in a controlled wear test. Try the chosen load and ordinary fishing clothing together. Fit is personal, and a product’s padded harness description cannot establish how it will feel on your shoulder after your particular route.

Compare the access you will actually use

A focused sling kit can keep lure changes simple when each item has a defined place. A larger backpack can separate tackle from layers and food, reducing the need to mix personal cargo with hooks and baits.

For either pack, load a rod holder only after checking reel clearance and tip height. A bag’s ability to carry a rod does not protect the blank from branches. Keep hooks secured and ensure the rod does not occupy the same space needed by a bottle or frequently used zipper.

Compare equal loads before comparing comfort

Put the same working tackle and personal supplies in each pack before comparing the straps. Filling KarryAll and leaving BlowBak half empty compares two loads as well as two harnesses. An equal load gives you a clearer sense of whether rotating the sling or using two shoulder straps suits you.

For an evening pond circuit with a small selection, start with BlowBak. For a longer conventional bank-fishing day with tackle and personal supplies, start with KarryAll. If your load falls between them, reduce it once and see whether the compact kit still supports the trip.

Neither model should be treated as a submersible dry pack. Use appropriate protection for sensitive items and compare a different category if immersion is a central concern.
